Directed by Park Yong Jib (Miss Gold Digger), Hwang Gu is an inspiring sports drama about a Filipino-Korean youth's dream of becoming a national taekwondo athlete. Born to a Filipino father and a Korean mother, taekwondo athlete Han Goo (Ji Min) is working hard towards his goal of making the national team. However, he keeps falling short every time, and not necessarily for taekwondo reasons. Despite experiencing setbacks and discrimination, Han Goo keeps on fighting for his dream with the support of his family and his girlfriend, played by 4Minute's So Hyun.
