Sooyoung, Lee Changseob, and Jung Jinwoon: Introverted BFFs Take on Island Adventure

The latest episode of KBS Joy's 'Kkiri Kkiri' aired on the 2nd, following the tight-knit trio of Sooyoung, Lee Changseob, and Jung Jinwoon as they explored Meijima Island, a place steeped in goblin folklore.

Their ferry ride took an unexpected turn when a Korean-fluent foreigner struck up a conversation. As the exchange with the exchange student dragged on, the trio's discomfort became palpable.

It turns out Sooyoung, Lee Changseob, and Jung Jinwoon all share introverted tendencies. While they're a riot when it's just the three of them, they clam up around strangers.

The awkwardness finally got to Sooyoung, who made a beeline for the exit, with Jung Jinwoon and Lee Changseob hot on her heels. Once outside, Jung Jinwoon confessed, "Those foreigners trying to chat us up really threw me for a loop. I feel terrible - they seemed so nice," he trailed off, clearly bummed.

Touching down on the island, the trio's spirits lifted as they dove into the sea. The quiet, sparsely populated village proved to be the perfect playground for these introverted pals.

The friends tried their hand at paddleboarding, with Sooyoung showing off her natural talent while Jung Jinwoon and Lee Changseob struggled to find their sea legs.

After their aquatic adventures, the group headed back to Takamatsu to check out a restaurant recommended by Jeon Hyunmoo. The spot is famous for its Honetsuki-dori, a local chicken dish served on the bone.

Menu perusal led to a minor tiff. While Lee Changseob and Jung Jinwoon were ready to go all out to satisfy their hunger, Sooyoung advocated for budget-friendly choices. In the end, she conceded to the majority.

The grilled chicken arrived first, earning rave reviews from all three. Lee Changseob gushed, "The texture is incredible - I could savor this for hours." Sooyoung chimed in, "This chicken is a must-try when you're here."

The young chicken that followed was equally impressive. Lee Changseob offered his culinary critique: "The older chicken is more for connoisseurs, but this young chicken? It's so tender, it's universally appealing."

The episode also unveiled the first encounter between elementary school classmates Sooyoung and Jung Jinwoon. According to Jung Jinwoon, Sooyoung's arrival at their school caused quite a stir, with over 40 boys crowding the windows to catch a glimpse. Sooyoung quipped, "What can I say? I was a looker back then."

Jung Jinwoon added, "We thought a celebrity had transferred in." He admitted feeling a bit threatened, given his own popularity at the time. "Not knowing Jung Jinwoon in Yangcheon District? That's like flunking local history," he boasted, eliciting laughs all around.

The next day found our trio wilting in the heat as they left their lodgings. Sooyoung came to the rescue with some much-needed vitamins before they set off for Shodoshima Island, a place famous for its olive groves.

The ferry ride to Shodoshima became an impromptu food tour as they sampled Yadon Udon, another local specialty. They were amazed to learn that the dishes were prepared right there on the ferry.

True to its moniker, Olive Island's roads were lined with olive trees, much to the group's fascination. Their first stop? An olive product shop, where they sampled some olive oil, marveling at its robust flavor.
