Soyou expresses heartfelt gratitude following her father's passing on the 25th: "Thanks to each and every one of you, I was able to bid him a proper farewell."

Singer Soyou has shared her thoughts and gratitude for the first time since her father's passing, reports MHN's Noh Yeon-joo.

On the 29th, Soyou took to social media, writing, "I'm overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support I've received. I don't think I've ever experienced such comfort and warmth in my life before."

She continued, "From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone who shared in my sorrow, held my hand, and silently stood by me during this incredibly difficult time of saying goodbye to my father."

Soyou added, "It's because of each and every one of you that I was able to give my father a proper send-off. I will carry the comfort and love you've shown me for the rest of my life." Despite her grief over losing her father on the 25th, Soyou expressed deep appreciation for the heartfelt support from fans and loved ones.

Hailing from Jeju, Soyou burst onto the K-pop scene in 2010 as a member of the girl group Sistar, captivating audiences with hit songs like "Alone" and "Touch My Body." Beyond her Sistar fame, her collaboration with Junggigo on "Some" topped Melon's annual chart, earning her the title "Collaboration Goddess." Her distinctive husky vocals left an indelible mark on listeners through partnerships with artists like Geeks and Mad Clown.

Following Sistar's disbandment in 2017, Soyou has continued to thrive as a solo artist. Last April, she signed a new exclusive contract with Magic Strawberry Sound, signaling an exciting new chapter in her career.
