Kim Soo-hyun’s Comeback: What to Expect from Disney+’s ’Knock Off’ Amid Controversy?
Kim Se-woo Arrested and Indicted for Raising Allegations... Disney+'s 'Knock Off' Release Date Still Undetermined

Actor Kim Soo-hyun has been inundated with nearly 40 offers for upcoming projects, spanning both film and television.
Industry insiders revealed to News1 on the 16th that Kim's team has been fielding a steady stream of potential roles.
The much-anticipated Disney+ series 'Knock Off,' starring Kim, is still awaiting its premiere. Originally slated for an April 2023 release, the show was put on indefinite hold due to controversies. The streaming giant is closely monitoring the situation before announcing a new launch date.
Beyond scripted content, Kim is reportedly attracting diverse collaboration opportunities. The actor marked his return to the spotlight on the 14th, ending a 16-month hiatus with a photo shoot for Philippine fashion label Bench.
Kim's career came to a standstill last March amid allegations of a relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron during their teenage years. While acknowledging a past romance, Kim's camp insisted it began after both parties were of legal age. In response, Kim's team filed defamation suits against Kim Se-woo, head of the YouTube channel that first raised the accusations, and Kim Sae-ron's family.
The investigation ultimately favored Kim Soo-hyun. The court ruled that the voice recording presented by Kim Se-woo was manipulated using AI technology, and determined that the purported KakaoTalk chat logs were fabricated. On the 23rd of last month, Kim Se-woo was arrested and indicted on multiple charges, including defamation, stalking, sexual violence, attempted coercion, and intimidation.
Kim Soo-hyun burst onto the scene in 2007 with the MBC sitcom 'Kimchi Cheese Smile.' His breakout came in 2012 with the period drama 'Moon Embracing the Sun.' That same year, he made history as the first Korean male actor to star in a debut film, 'The Thieves,' that surpassed 12.98 million admissions. Kim's popularity soared across Asia with 2014's 'My Love from the Star.' Most recently, he shattered ratings records with 'The Queen of Tears' in 2024, which peaked at an impressive 24.9% viewership for tvN.
