Actress Song Hye-kyo continues her 15-year commitment to promoting Korean history abroad.

In a recent collaboration, Song and Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women’s University donated 10,000 bilingual guides to the former Korean Empire Legation in Washington, D.C. These Korean and English guides are now available to visitors on-site.

The guide highlights key independence movement locations, including the Korean Empire Legation and various diplomatic missions. It’s designed to educate visitors about these overseas historical sites and make Korea’s independence struggle more accessible to international audiences.

\”The preservation of Korea’s independence movement sites abroad isn’t ideal,\” Professor Seo notes. \”Ongoing interest and visits from our fellow Koreans are crucial for maintaining these historical treasures.\”

This initiative is part of a broader project that has distributed Korean history guides across 11 major global cities, from New York to Tokyo.

For 15 years, Professor Seo and Song have collaborated on various projects, including creating Korean-language guides, installing Korean signage, and donating relief sculptures of independence activists. Their efforts have touched 40 Korean historical sites worldwide, consistently promoting Korean heritage.

Song Hye-kyo, born in 1981, started as a model in 1996 before transitioning to acting. She’s beloved for her roles in hit series like \”Autumn in My Heart,\” \”Full House,\” and \”Descendants of the Sun.\”
